Bhubaneswar: President Ram Nath Kovind will grace the Platinum Jubilee celebration of Utkal University.during his two-day visit to Odisha.
Informing the media on Monday, in-charge Director General of Police (DGP) Satyajit Mohanty said that the President will arrive in the state capital in the evening on November 7 and have a night halt at the Raj Bhawan.
The next morning, the President will leave for Khurda to attend the foundation laying ceremony of the Saheed Smaraki Memorial near the foothill of Barunei, which will be constructed to commemorate the 200th year of the historic Paika rebellion against the British rule.
From Khurda, the President will arrive at the Utkal University to grace the Platinum Jubilee celebration. Later, he will return to Raj Bhawan for lunch before leaving for New Delhi in the evening.
Talking about the security measures, Mohanty said a total of 50 platoons of police will be deployed in Khurda, Bhubaneswar and along the route.
