Bhubaneswar: Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Bhubaneswar, Rabindra Kumar Mohapatra has been picked for President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on the eve of Independence Day.
He is among the 26 officers of Odisha police, who will be felicitated for Distinguished, Gallantry and Meritorious services.
Eight police personnel- ASP (Special Intelligence Wing) Kartikeswar Samal, Assistant Inspector Kishore Kumar Dongayat, Assistant Commandant (Security Wing) Naresh Kumar Patel, Sub-Inspector Bijay Kishore Dash, Havildars Mohammad Sabir, Goutam Charan Swain, Constable Sagar Charan Guia and Constable (Vigilance) Sanjukta Patnaik will be receiving Police medal for Meritorious Service.
In addition, 17 police officers have been chosen for President’s Police Medal for Gallantry. They are Havaldar Bhawani Pradhan, Deputy Subedar Kiran Kumar, Constables Manoranjan Nayak, Uday Shankar Patra, Dhaneswar Muduli, Premananda Pradhan, Mahadev Gahir, Ram Chandra Hembram,
Hemant Pradhan, Samanta Majhi, Amit Kumar Biswal, Santanu Kumar Pradhani, Amit Kumar Biswal, Sergeant Tunu Sahu, Sub-Inspector Bikash Patra and Suresh Chandra Hembram (Posthumously).
As many as 990 personnel from across the country will be honoured with police medals this year.
