The district administration held a high-level meeting on Saturday on the security arrangements during Kovind’s visit. The meeting was attended by Puri Collector Samarth Verma and SP Kanwar Vishal Singh, among others.
“Preparations are in full swing for the President’s visit. Forty platoons of police will be deployed and around 200 officers will supervise the security arrangements,” Singh said.
As per the itinerary released by the President’s Office, Kovind will arrive in Puri in a helicopter at 3.25 pm on February 19. From the helipad, he will directly go to his hotel. He will go to Jagannath temple for darshan of the deities at around 5 pm.
On February 20, the President is scheduled to visit the Shri Chaitanya Gaudiya Mutt along Grand Road and attend a special function there.
