Dhenkanal: Police on Friday arrested the prime accused in the SBI ATM loot case in the district from Balasore. Five accused in the case were arrested earlier.
Dhenkanal SP K Siva Subramani told the media persons that Motanga police of the district produced the prime accused before court following his arrest. He has 25 cases pending against him in Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Khurdha districts and Bhubaneswar, the SP said.
The police have seized Rs 5.82 lakh in cash, gold jewellery and six mobile phones from the possession of arrested persons.
The arrested persons had looted Rs 26.56 lakh from the ATM kiosk at Nimabahali Chhak here by cutting the cash machine with a gas cutter.
