Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his mega roadshow in Bhubaneswar with an assertion that Odisha is going to witness a major turning point in the ensuing elections.
In an exclusive interview to a national channel, Modi said the BJP had resolved to win the Assembly elections in Odisha by unseating the present BJD government. The party’s resolve has been evoked by the way the language, culture and traditions of the state have been undermined by the present regime, he added.
He further said considering the overwhelming support he and other senior leaders of the party were getting at massive gathering at their meetings in Odisha, it can be said that the state is set for a turning point in this election.
“The people’s participation and support for BJP in Odisha is unprecedented. The people are no more connected to the present government in the state,” he said.
The Prime Minister’s roadshow witnessed enthusiastic participation of thousands of people in Bhubaneswar. The roadshow on Janpath of the city continued for nearly one and a half hours. It started from Master Canteen and culminated at Vani Vihar.
Modi was accompanied by BJP’s state president Manmohan Samal and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi in the vehicle. This was the second roadshow of Modi in the state in five years.
BJP workers, supporters and people of the city lined up on both sides of Janpath to welcome Modi. Holding the flags of BJP, they raised slogans in favour of the BJP and Modi during the roadshow.
After the roadshow, Modi proceeded to Raj Bhavan where he will make a night halt. He will address three election meetings on Saturday.
He will fly in a special helicopter of IAF from Bhubaneswar to Phulbani at 8.30 am and attend the BJP’s election meeting at Kandhamal Stadium at 10.30. From there, he will fly to Balangir where he will address Vijay Sankalp Samabesh. His last meeting will be held at Vikar Ground in Bargarh at 1.30 pm.
