Seven Prisoners Walk Free From Odisha Jails On Gandhi Jayanti

Jharsuguda: A convict was released from Jharsuguda Sub-Jail on Wednesday under the scheme for special remission to prisoners to commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

The convict, Bharat Pradhan, was counselled by jail Superintendent Debendra Kumar Thaty to follow the path of non-violence as shown by Mahatma Gandhi.

He was then dropped at the bus stop by the jail staff.
Besides Bharat, five convicts were released from Keonjhar and one from Choudwar Circle Jail under the scheme, said additional director general (Prison) Satyajit Mohanty.
