Parlakhemundi: The strike by private bus workers’ union at Parlakhemundi in Gajapati distruct was called off following discussion with the members of bus owners’ union on Saturday.
During the meeting, the private bus owners’ union members assured the agitators that the incident like attack on a bus conductor will not be repetead in future.
More than 80 buses plying on different routes had stayed off the roads here since morning due to the strike called by the private bus workers’ union to protest the attack on a bus conductor identified as Lokanath Sahu on Friday afternoon by the owner of another bus.
Owing to the strike, commuters were seen stranded at different bus depots as they were unaware of the strike.
