Mumbai: After shifting her base to Hollywood, Bollywood’s desi girl Priyanka Chopra had taken a hiatus from Indian cinema.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, Priyanka is set for her comeback to Indian cinema with celebrated ‘Baahubali’ filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s next venture.
Rajamouli’s upcoming project, based on a unique African jungle adventure, will feature South superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead role opposite Priyanka.
As per reports, the shooting of the film is scheduled to commence in April.
“The script is in its final stages, and the film is scheduled to go on floors in April 2025. Rajamouli was seeking a female lead with global appeal, and Priyanka was the perfect choice. Over the past six months, the filmmaker had multiple meetings with her, and everything has aligned perfectly for this collaboration,” a source said.
“Priyanka Chopra is thrilled to collaborate with a visionary like SS Rajamouli and team up with Mahesh Babu for an adventure like never before. This project is a new challenge for her, with a character that offers plenty of action alongside Mahesh Babu. It’s a well-crafted role, and Priyanka has already begun preparing for the film,” the source added.
The last time Priyanka featured in an Indian movie was ‘The Sky Is Pink’ in 2019.
