Priyanka Chopra’s Daughter Malti Marie Calls Herself ‘Indian Princess’

Mumbai: Bollywood’s ‘desi girl’ Priyanka Chopra revealed during her appearance on ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ that her daughter Malti Marie Jonas calls herself an ‘Indian princess’.

Though Malti Marie was born and is being brought up in the US, Priyanka makes sure that her daughter is connected to Indian culture and heritage.

When celebrity guest Archana Puran Singh asked Priyanka what Malti might miss growing up abroad, the global icon replied, “She travels to India often. She accompanied me to Hyderabad, she’s been to Mumbai, she’s been to Delhi and even came with me to Ayodhya. I’ve always tried my best to make sure that she is familiarised with Indian culture and traditions, as much as possible.”

Describing her young daughter’s relationship with traditional Indian attire, Priyanka shared, “Whenever she puts on her ghagra-choli, she calls herself an ‘Indian princess’. She loves her ghagras and bindis and bangles, which I always take for her.”

Priyanka tied the knot with American singer Nick Jonas in December 2018, and the couple welcomed their first child via surrogacy in January 2022.

On the work front, Priyanka is making her comeback in Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s ‘Varanasi’, in which Mahesh Babu is her co-star.

Reports suggest that Priyanka will be playing the role of Mandakini in the highly-anticipated sci-fi action-adventure. While preparing for ‘Varanasi’, Priyanka had confirmed that she will dub her own Telugu dialogues in the film.

“Yes, I am. Practising hard,” she replied to a fan, who asked on Instagram about her Telugu dialogues.
