Priyanka Chopra’s Mother Had No Hope Of Her Daughter Ever Getting Married; Here’s Why

New York: There was a time when Madhu Chopra had given up hope of her daughter Priyanka Chopra ever getting married.

No wonder she was mighty relieved when Priyanka tied the knot with American singer Nick Jonas in 2018.

Priyanka revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair that her mother was quite excited that she eventually said ‘I do’.

“She’s very much an Asian mom, very excited about the fact that I finally did it. She had no hope,” said the global star who is a producer, singer, model and restaurateur besides being an actress in demand.

Madhu Chopra, in fact, tried to convince Priyanka to set up a production company by the time she turned 30.

“Oh, my God, you’re not going to have an acting career anymore because everybody wants to work with a younger one. So we need a business,” Madhu had told Priyanka about a decade ago.

Bollywood rumour mills linked Priyanka with some of her co-stars during her early years in the industry, including Shah Rukh Khan when they were shooting for Don 2.

The former Miss World, now 39, got married to Nick Jonas – who is 10 years younger than her – in a grand ceremony at Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhawan Palace on December 2, 2018.
