Keonjhar: Keonjhar SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra on Wednesday ordered a probe into the alleged physical torture of a minor boy of Kameswarpur Patana village under Patana police limits.
Mahapatra directed Ghatagaon SDPO to probe the incident and submit a report within a week. The directive came a day after the victim and his mother met him at his office and submitted a written complaint.
Talking to media, the minor’s mother said on November 21 cops had called her minor son to the police station for interrogation in connection with a theft case. After the two went to the police station, the IIC told her that he will release the boy after interrogation. When she returned to the police station in the afternoon to take her son, she found severe injury marks on his leg. She took him the community health centre (CHC) at Patana for treatment.
“I told the SP that I have filed a petition in the court as I am being threatened by the concerned IIC of the police station,” she added.
