Khurda: The school and mass education department on Thursday ordered a probe into the incident in which over 100 students of Deulatangi Primary School in Khurda were taken ill after consuming eggs in midday meal the previous day.
The department has directed the CDMO to conduct a thorough probe into the matter and submit a detailed report at the earliest.
Meanwhile, samples of the food, including eggs served to students, have been sent to laboratory for testing.
Hours after the incident, the district education officer had suspended headmistress of the school Bijayini Tripathy after parents demanded a thorough probe and action against those responsible.
While 103 students were discharged following treatment at district headquarters hospital on Wednesday, 25 more were rushed to hospital later after they suddenly developed redness on their face and complained of nausea, head reeling and stomach cramp.
Barring one student, all have been discharged from the hospital. The lone student has been kept under observation and will be discharged soon, hospital authorities said.
