Bhubaneswar: The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has initiated process to develop Puri railway station into a transit hub of international standard.
The RLDA, a statutory authority under the Ministry of Railways, has invited bids for the project which will be carried out on Design, Build, Finance, Operate, Transfer Model (DBFOT) basis by August 17. The pre-bid meeting for the project is scheduled on July 15, according to an RLDA release.
The project, which has been estimated to cost at Rs 82 crore, will include redevelopment of the station and development of surrounding railway land.
Under the project, the station will be developed into a multimodal transit hub. It will also have a check-in area, an information centre and an art gallery.
The development of the station is expected to boost the business activities and generate employment opportunities in the area.
