Prof RN Acharya from Odisha Appointed DG Of CCRAS

Bhubaneswar: Gujarat Ayurveda University Professor Rabi Narayan Acharya has been appointed Director General of the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), New Delhi.

His appointment has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet for a period of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Prof Acharya is the first from Odisha to head the central institution under the Ministry of AYUSH.

Prof Acharya, a native of Nalibar village in Jagatsinghpur district, is presently the Dean and Head of Dravyaguna department at the Institute for Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (IPGT&RA), Jamnagar.

He has authored five books and worked as temporary advisor to the World Health Organisation (WHO).
