Bhubaneswar: Noted scientist Prof Nachiketa Khamari Sharma of the department of Physics in Odisha’s Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) deemed university has been honoured for his contribution towards making science education simple and easy.
Prof Sharma was felicitated at a mega science fair organised by the Institute of Basic Science and Training at Nagpur in Maharashtra recently. The honour was in recognition of his role in simplifying science education for students and also taking it to the common people.
He was among 50 distinguished personalities from 17 states who were honoured at the event. They were presented citations and mementos, according to a release from SOA on Saturday.
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, who joined the event as chief guest through video conference, congratulated all those who were honoured on the occasion.
Director of National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) Dr Nakul Parashar and Pro-Chancellor of SOA, Bhubaneswar, Prof Amit Banerjee also attended the event.
