Bhubaneswar: To promote and disseminate the tourism potential — the pristine culture and tradition and the exciting flora and fauna of Odisha — on social media the state government has announced a novel campaign ‘Odisha through lens’.
The state Tourism Department, in a tweet, has said that those having a penchant for photography can join the contest and take exciting photos on the following seven themes.
—Beaches, rivers, lakes and waterfalls
—Wildlife
—Urban Odisha
—Rural life, tribal life and habitat
—Temples and monuments
—Traditional Art, culture & craft, classical and folk dances
— Landscapes/mountains
Each participant can only upload one photograph in any one of the seven themes. There will be a total of 21 winners with three winners for each theme.
Those willing to participate in the photography contest shall have to open the twitter page of the Tourism Department @odisha_tourism and click https://bit.ly/3ilOITE for entries. The participants must attach a valid ID, proving their nationality, country of residence and occupation.
The last date of the entry is 5 pm on September 20 while the name of the winners will be announced on September 27 on the occasion of World Tourism Day.
The contest will be launched and promoted through the website of the Tourism Department www.odishatourism.gov.in and social media platforms. The winning photos will be displayed on the website and featured prominently in the Odisha Tourism social media handles.
1st prize — 2 nights and 3 days for 2 persons on an OTDC (Odisha Tourism Development Corporation) or Ecotour Nature Camp of the contestant’s choice.
2nd prize — 1 night and 2 days for 2 persons on an OTDC or Ecotour Nature Camp of the contestant’s choice for 2 persons
3rd prize — Gift vouchers worth Rs 3000 from either OTDC/ Utkalika/TIDDCOL/Boyanika.
The contest is open to professional and amateur photographers, who are above 18 years of age and all nationalities, except citizens of Pakistan and China. The judges of the contest, contest organisers, contest sponsors and their respective family members are not eligible to participate.
Three images will be selected from each Theme based on the jury’s decision. Each individual can win only one prize or prize package.
