Karanjia: A newborn declared dead at Karanjia sub-divisional hospital in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Wednesday was later found alive at his funeral.
But the good news did not last as the baby boy died during treatment on Thursday.
Raimani of Khadikapada village in Saharpada block of Keonjhar was admitted to hospital on Wednesday following labour pain. She gave birth to a boy. Later, the newborn was pronounced dead by doctors.
In an unusual development, the newborn started crying at the funeral. The family went back to the hospital, where the baby was admitted again. But the newborn died on Thursday morning.
According to reports, hospital sources said the baby was premature and that doctors couldn’t save him despite their best efforts.
