Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Police Commissioner, Satyajit Mohanty, on Friday submitted a proposal to the Director General of Police (DGP), RP Sharma, on the bifurcation of the Bhubaneswar Urban Police District (UPD).
Mohanty told the media that the proposal was for bifurcating the Bhubaneswar UPD as north and south Bhubaneswar zones with one deputy commissioner of police (DCP) heading each zone.
“The proposal has been given taking the rising population, number of vehicles and criminal activities in the city,” he added.
