Puri: Tension gripped Dera ashram here on Friday following a heated argument between some members of the ashram and a group of people, staging a protest condemning the violence that broke out in Punjab and Haryana after a CBI special court pronounced Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh guilty in a rape case.
The incident took place when some members of Puri Sachetana Nagarika Mancha gathered in front of the ashram on the Puri-Konark Marine drive and raised slogans against the violence carried out by the Dera supporters.
