Public Hearing Held For Environmental Clearance Of Tata Steel Mining’s Gandhalpada Iron Mine In Odisha

Joda: A public hearing for the Environmental Clearance of Gandhalpada Iron Mine of Tata Steel Mining Limited was held at Gandhalpada under Barbil Tahsil in Keonjhar District on Wednesday.

The event was organised for production of 10 Million Ton Per Annum (MTPA) with total excavation of 18 MTPA over an area of 241.10 hectare at Gandhalpada, Guali and Barpada under Badbil Tahsil of Keonjhar district, a company release said.

Ghasiram Murmu, Project Director, District Urban Development Agency, presided over the meeting in the presence of Prasant Kar, Regional Officer, State Pollution Control Board, Keonjhar.

The residents of the region expressed their support for the company by demanding a new hospital, environmental improvement, creation of new forests, health services, employment of local people etc.

At the end of the meeting, Atul Kumar Bhatnagar, GM (OMQ) commented on the demands of the locals.
