Sambalpur: Raising his tirade against BJD government in Odisha to a notch higher, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday said the Odias should pull down the government which is run by non-Odias.
Speaking at the BJP workers’ meeting in Phasimal under Kuchinda constituency and “Garib Kalyan Samabesh” at Tamparkela in Sambalpur district, Pradhan said the people, who have connection or emotional binding with Odisha, are now sitting at the helm of state administration.
“It is unfortunate that the ministers of Odisha have become organisers of the meetings for the bureaucrats. It is not only immoral but also unconstitutional. The Odia ministers of the present government have hurt the Odia pride and must be driven out of the power,” the Minister said.
He called upon the BJP workers to tighten the belt to fight against the corruption-ridden government and bring in the administration exemplified by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Listing out the welfare measures taken up by the Centre for Sambalpur and its people, Pradhan said each beneficiary family in the district has been sanctioned around Rs 5 lakh under Garib Kalyan Yojana. “The Centre has sanctioned Rs 7,918 crore for 1,64,574 families of the district for various schemes under the Yojana to provide rice, houses, toilets, LPG connection, bank loan, old age pension, rural employment and financial incentives to women SHGs,” he said.
