Pulwama Attack: Women and Children Transferred Explosives

Srinagar: Women and children were hired as couriers to transfer explosives used in the Pulwama terror from one point to another. The explosives were sneaked from across the border.

This startling revelation was made by Zee media on Wednesday, quoting intelligence agencies.

The RDX used to attack the CRPF convoy that killed the 42 jawans, including two from Odisha, was procured by Pakistan Army in Rawalpindi and handed over to Jeish-e-Mohammad operatives. The banned militant outfit has already claimed responsibility for the attack.

The process of collecting RDX reportedly began in March 2018 and the explosives were smuggled using backpacks, cylinders and coal bags to Tral village of Pulwama.

According to intelligence agencies, the RDX used in the attack is reported to be of Military A5 grade category and was transported across the border in small quantities over a period of few months primarily by women and kids.

Around 300 kgs of RDX was used in the Pulwama attack. It was carried in three drums and mixed with shrapnel (nails, iron pieces) and Ammonium Nitrate which is used as an oxidiser to create an impactful blast.

The drums were fitted in the vehicle which was then maneuvered by the suicide bomber on the Jammu-Srinagar highway.

The attack was executed by Adil Ahmed Dar, the 20-year-old native of Pulwama. The army gunned down Kamran, the main conspirator of the attack on Monday. He was responsible for recruiting, radicalising and training terrorists in the Kashmir Valley.

Meanwhile, The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered a case and is launching a fresh probe into the attack. A team of senior NIA officers has been camping in Srinagar since the suicide attack took place.
