Punjabi Singer’s Body Found In Canal Days After Being Kidnapped; What Led To The Ghastly Crime?

Ludhiana: Punjabi singer Inder Kaur, also known as Yashinder Kaur, was found dead in Ludhiana days after she was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint.

The body of the talented 29-year-old singer, who had been missing since May 13, was recovered from the Neelo Canal on Tuesday morning.

According to Inder’s family, she was being forced into marriage by Sukhwinder Singh, the main accused. Sukhwinder allegedly orchestrated Inder’s killing after she refused his proposal.

According to a police complaint filed by Inder’s brother Jotinder Singh, the singer left home in her Ford Figo around 8.30 pm

on the evening of May 13 to buy groceries, but didn’t return.

After repeated attempts to contact her failed, and search for her proved futile, the family approached the police to register a missing complaint.

They alleged that Sukhwinder, a resident of Bhaloor, in Punjab’s Moga district.

The family further alleged that Sukhwinder travelled from Canada to Punjab with the target of killing Inder.

Sukhwinder and his associates allegedly intercepted Inder, kidnapped her at gunpoint, murdered her and dumped her body in the Neelo Canal before flying back to Canada.

Inder’s family also questioned the way police handled the case, claiming that despite an FIR being registered on May 15 against Sukhwinder and his associate Karamjit Singh, no action was taken.

An extensive investigation has been launched into the singer’s killing.

A rising name in Punjabi music scene, Inder gained recognition and popularity for her regional songs, having released the track ‘Sohna Lagda’ recently.
