Puri: The Puri district administration on Tuesday took possession of Bagaria dharamshala located in front of Singhadwar.
All rooms of the dharamshala were sealed in the presence of Puri tehsildar Khirod Behera.
Earlier, the Singhadwar police station used to function from one part of the dharamshala.
Behera told a news channel that the district administration took possession of the dharamshala following an order passed by the additional district magistrate of Puri last year. The dharamshala land belongs to the state government and the dharamshala was found to have violated terms and conditions. The case was related to the Orissa Estates Abolition Act.
The Bagaria dharamshala was found violating bylaws and letting out space to a few shops on rent.
