Puri: In order to ensure prevention of coronavirus spread during Bahuda Yatra of Trinity in Puri, it has been decided that all the servitors of the Jagannath temple will be tested twice for the virus.
The decision was taken following a detailed discussion on the steps to be taken against the COVID-19 pandemic at a meeting of Chhatis Nijog (servitors’ body), here on Thursday.
It was also decided at the meeting that all servitors will be tested twice in two phases, sources said. Around 7,00 servitors underwent the test during the first round on Thursday. The next phase of test will be conducted after 2-3 days.
The sevayats who were tested for coronavirus will also be tested again. Only the servitors, who will test negative, will participate in the Bahuda Yatra and the rituals in the Gundicha Temple, the sources said.
