Bhubaneswar: Odisha making a mark in reality show India’s Got Talent is nothing new. The state gave the show aired on Colors TV its first winner, Prince Group from Berhampur, and over the seasons many Odias have made it to the finals.
In the eighth season, a couple from Puri is creating waves on the national platform with ‘Mallakhamb’ move.
Umakant Sahu and Sujata Ray are now in the semi-final.
The journey to gain recognition through their art has not been an easy one for the two, who hails from very poor family.
The Mallakhamb artistes earlier had to move to Uttarakhand in search of work.
Recently, they earned praises and hogged the limelight with their performance in Rishikesh Got Talent and Uttarakhand Got Talent.
Later, they also performed near India Gate in New Delhi, before getting a chance to showcase their skills on the television show.
India’s Got Talent features three popular celebrities, Kirron Kher, Karan Johar and Malaika Arora as the judges.
