Puri: In the wake of the custodial death of a youth in Puri town, Odisha Police on Sunday transferred the IIC of Baseli Sahi police station Jibanananda Jena to the district police headquarters.
Jena was replaced by IIC of Balanga Police Station Sanjib Pradhan.
Jena’s transfer came after the post-mortem report conducted by three senior doctors at the District Headquarters Hospital revealed that the deep and multiple injuries on the body of the youth, K Ramesh, was due to the impact of a hard and blunt weapon.
Police had earlier claimed that Ramesh of Loknath Road area had died after colliding with the police vehicle during night patrolling.
