Puri: In the wake of the alleged custodial death of a youth at Baseli Sahi police station in Puri, the post-mortem report has said that the victim, K Ramesh, died due to severe beating.
The three doctors, who had conducted the post mortem, in their report said there were more than 20 deep injuries from the head to the toes of the deceased. These included deep wounds in the middle portion of a knee, both hands and eyelids.
While the left palm of the deceased was swollen, there was a blood clot on the brain, the report said, adding that the deceased sustained multiple injuries due to the impact of a heavy and blunt object.
While the doctors said the post-mortem was conducted within 12-18 hours after the youth died, they have not confirmed the cause of death as the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) is yet to submit its reports on the examination of the deceased’s body samples.
