Puri: The official Twitter handle of Puri district administration has been hacked by hackers suspected to be belonging to China.
According to sources, the matter came to light on Saturday afternoon when an official in the collectorate tried to post something on the Twitter handle @Puri_Official. On clicking the Twitter account, it showed Yin Yang Gang carrying a blue tick.
After hacking the account, the hacker retweeted several official tweets posted in the handle. Some cartoon pictures were also posted in the Twitter account.
As the officials failed to stop the hacking after several attempts, Puri district collector Samarth Verma directed the IT cell to investigate the matter, the sources said.
