Puri: A young girl of Puri has crafted Suna Besha of Lord Jagannath from daily use items on the eve of Bahuda Yatra of the divine siblings of the Jagannath temple here.
Biswarupa Patnaik of Markandeswar Sahi, a devotee of the deity, said local people in the pilgrim town created an idol of Lord Jagannath decked in gold in just one day.
Explaining her work, the 19-year-old girl said she used old paper, glitter paper and decorative items to give the gold look of the idol and nearly 2 foot idol was completed in a day’s work.
Earlier too she has created the different besha (avatars) of the deity and hopes to make it to national record books with her crafts.
The ban on public darshan during Rath Yatra, Bahuda Yatra and Suna Besha of Lord Jagannath and his siblings for the second consecutive year has left the locals yearning for a glimpse of Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Lord Jagannath after the restrictions are lifted.
