Bhubaneswar: Dhanalaxmi Rao made Odisha proud at the National Sub-Junior Artistic Gymnastics Championships which concluded at Kolkata on Sunday.
The girl from Puri Zilla School bagged bronze medal in the Uneven Bars competition. It was a very special performance as it fetched Odisha a Gymnastics Nationals medal after 30 years.
Dhanalaxmi tallied 9.733 points.
Maharashtra’s Ritisha Inamdar scored 10,433 to strike gold and Sakshi Dalvi, also of Maharashtra, was second with 9833.
