Puri Jagannath Temple Admin Approves 5 Odia Panjikas, Stresses Error-Free Publication



Puri: Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) held an important meeting on Tuesday for reconciliation of the Panjika (almanac) for 2026–27, and made it clear that all festival-related information must remain accurate and error-free.

Chief Administrator of SJTA Arabinda Padhee told reporters that extensive discussion was held to ensure precision in the dates and observance of all rituals, festivals, and yatras associated with the Shree Jagannath Temple. No discrepancy or deviation from Srimandir norms would be tolerated in the Panjika publications for the upcoming Odia year.

Panjika publishers – Kohinoor, Radharaman, Bhagyadeep, Arunodaya, and G.N. Tripathi – have been officially approved by the SJTA to publish the almanac for 2026–27 with accurate details related to the temple’s rituals and festivals.

Starting from Mahavishuva Sankranti, preparations have been finalised for all major rituals and festivals up to Badi Nrusimha Bije in 2027, Padhee said.

The SJTA chief also warned that strict action will be initiated against any Panjika publication institution found printing incorrect information regarding Shree Jagannath Temple festivals, rituals, or observances. Publishers were urged to maintain the highest level of accuracy, considering the religious and cultural significance of the almanac.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Muktimandap Pandit Sabha, Pujapanda Nijog, Shree Jagannath Temple Commander, members of the Managing Committee, Deula Karana, Tadhau Karana, Chhatisa Nijog Mahanayak, and senior officers of the temple adminstration.
