Puri Jagannath Temple Lights Up After 12 Days

Puri: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took to Twitter to express happiness over the restoration of electricity to Jagannath Temple and the Grand Road in Puri on Wednesday evening. It has been without power for the last 12 days since the devastating Cyclone Fani ripped through the Odisha coast near the pilgrim town.

Water crisis affected the functioning of the 12th-century shrine, though mahaprasad was being cooked as usual.

Thousands of power workers and public health engineering organisation staff had been working almost around-the-clock to normalise power and water supply in the town.
