THREE CHARIOTS AT TEMPLE
Bhubaneswar: A Bhoi servitor of the Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri, who was seriously injured during Bahuda Yatra of the sibling deities in the pilgrim town, died while undergoing treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
The deceased servitor was identified as Nakula Bhoi.
A portion of the rope of Lord Balabhadra’s Taladhwaja chariot had snapped on the day of Bahuda Yatra on June 28, leaving Bhoi and some others injured.
The servitor was initially rushed to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital and later shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar city for better treatment as his condition was critical.
However, he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the healthcare facility.
A pall of gloom descended on the servitor fraternity following the demise of Bhoi.
It may be recalled that around six persons, including the Bhoi servitor, were injured after the rope of Taladhwaja chariot of Lord Balabhadra snapped near Market Chhak on Grand Road during the Bahuda Yatra of the sibling deities to Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.
