Puri: A sevayat of Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri has tested positive for COVID-19.
He was among the 32 returnees from Kumbh Mela in Uttarakhand, informed Krishan Kumar, chief administration of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration.
Kumar said, the sevayat is presently in isolation and adequate medical attention has been given to him.
The Nilachal Bhakt Nivas has been converted into a COVID care centre with oxygen facility against each bed.
On April 19, a total of 50 persons associated with the temple had tested positive for COVID. They included 22 sevayats and their family members and 19 staff of shoe stands.
