Puri: Shree Jagannath Temple in pilgrim town of Odisha Puri will remain out of bounds for devotees from 6 pm to 10 pm on Monday for ‘Paita Lagi’ Niti (ritual) of the sibling deities.
During this ritual, the servitors cover the body of the deities with a special silk cloth – ‘Basunga Patta’. This cloth is then rubbed with sandalwood paste. Daitapati servitors perform this secret ritual.
