Berhampur: Body of a young man was found near a hotel close to Taratarini Temple in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Wednesday morning.
The decea
sed has been identified as Manoj Swain, a resident of Puri.
According to preliminary reports, Manoj had traveled to the area along with two other companions for temple-related maintenance work. They had checked into a hotel near the shrine on June 28.
Hotel staff spotted the body and informed Purushottampur police, who rushed to the scene. Given the nature of the injuries and the positioning of the body, it is being suspected that Manoj was murdered.
With investigation underway, Manoj’s companions and hotel staff. are expected to be questioned. Furthermore, CCTV footage from the hotel and surrounding areas will be examined to trace the victim’s final movements and identify any suspects involved.
The body has been sent for postmortem, and further details are awaited.
