Puri: The number of arrests in the sensational broad daylight murder of Sanjay Behera alias Para, an anti-social, near Gundicha Temple in Puri on December 25 last year has gone up to eight.
The Kumbharapada police on Wednesday night arrested another four accused, including a woman.
Among the four arrested, Bhagirathi Jena alias Bhagu has been identified as the mastermind.
The murder weapon, two country-made revolvers, were also seized from Bhagu.
Notably, police had arrested four persons, a day after the murder.
During interrogation, one of the accused, identified as Denga Muna, told police about involvement of Bhagirathi in the murder and that he was the mastermind.
Bhagu had given him a 7.6 mm country-made pistol to kill Behera. After killing Behera on December 25, he had returned the pistol to Bhagu, police said.
