Puri Police Issue Traffic Curbs For Konark Festival; Check Vehicle Parking Sites

Puri: With the 36th edition of Konark Festival, celebrating the country’s classical dance forms, set to kick off on Monday, the Puri district police issued a detailed traffic advisory for the five-day event to ensure smooth movement of vehicles.

The Konark Festival is being held concurrently with the International Sand Art Festival and Subhadra Shakti Mela.

As the five-day extravaganza is expected to attract tourists from across India and abroad, elaborate arrangements have been made for smooth movement of vehicles carrying visitors to the venue.

Traffic restrictions for the festival include designated parking areas for different vehicle types, with shuttle services available, and restrictions on vehicle entry to certain zones around the festival sites to manage crowds and ensure safety.

Vehicles from Bhubaneswar may be directed to use specific parking grounds like Bhuasuni Ground and proceed to the festival grounds, while some routes will have limited access for certain vehicle types.

Vehicles from Puri side to Subhadra Shakti Mela should proceed on the road near Chandrabhaga Marine Police Station to the new parking site.

The road between Chandrabhaga Police Station and Konark town has been declared ‘No-Parking Zone.’ Following is the detailed traffic advisory issued by the Puri Police.
