Puri: Puri police on Saturday issued guidelines for hotels, lodges, holiday homes and guest houses in the town as safety directives to curb illegal and criminal activities.
“Hotels and other such accommodations have been asked to submit occupancy report at the police station concerned before 10 am every day, either through mail or as a hard copy. All such establishments are required to keep identity proof of the occupants. In case of foreign nationals, the hotel owners and managers are advised to follow immigration guidelines strictly,” Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi informed.
Besides, CCTV cameras have been made mandatory for such establishments. These have to be installed at the entry and exit points, parking areas and baggage scanning areas, he added.
The circulation also stressed the need for timely renewal of hotel owners’ licence as per SARAI Act at the Collector’s office.
