Puri: While the Supreme Court is all set to hear the modification petitions on Rath Yatra, the sevayats of the Jagannath Temple in Puri on Monday performed the Agyan Mala Bije rituals for the three chariots.
After bringing the Agyan Mala from the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, the senior servitors went in a procession to the three chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra and performed the rituals there.
As per the temple tradition, the three chariots will be pulled from Ratha Khala to Singha Dwara after this ritual and kept north-faced towards the Gundicha temple in the afternoon.
In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the chariots will be pulled by the police and the sevayats.
