Puri: The three chariots of sibling deities of Jagannath temple in Puri will be pulled from 5 pm during this year’s Rath Yatra as the rituals for three major events have to be performed on the same day.
The detailed schedule of the rituals for the Rath Yatra on July 7 was drawn up at a meeting of Chhatis Nijog (servitors’ body) and Niti Sub-Committee of the temple management in the Pilgrim Town on Monday. The final schedule will be announced after the temple managing committee approves it at a meeting on Tuesday.
The schedule was decided in the line of the programme for Rath Yatra in 1971 when similar situation had cropped up. In a rare occurrence, the festivals of Rath Yatra, Nabajouban Darshan and Netrotsav would be celebrated on the same day.
