Puri: A day and night cricket meet was held this week at Kantapada as part of the Puri Rural Sports Meet, which is being organized by youths of more than 30 villages over the past one decade.
Top industry professional Dr Tapan Chand, who was chief guest on valedictory day, said that rural sports is the key for development of wholesome personality of rural youth.
Padmashree Prabhakar Maharana, an eminent sculptor who has earned laurels for the state at national and international levels, also encouraged the youth to pursue sports.
Both Chand and Maharana are natives of the villages which participated in the meet.
