Puri Seer Thanks CJI For Giving Permission To Rath Yatra Without Devotees

Puri: Shankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati on Wednesday expressed his satisfaction over smooth conduct of Rath Yatra without devotees in Puri on Tuesday for timely permission by the Supreme Court.

The Shankaracharya praised Chief Justice of India for announcing the court’s verdict to allow Rath Yatra in Puri in time to allow all the stakeholders to organise the festival amid restrictions of COVID-19.

The seer was also of high praise for the Prime Minister and Chief Minister for convincing the devotees to stay at home so that the Rath Yatra could be held without their presence.

He also took note of the role of Puri Gajapati, district administration and the petitioners for their efforts in preventing the centuries-old tradition being disrupted this year.
