Puri: Justice B P Das Commission on Puri Jagannath Temple reforms on
Tuesday sought a detailed report from law secretary, Shree Jagannath
Temple Administration (SJTA), district collector and SP within ten
days on how several photographs of the shrine’s Jagamohan
repair work went viral on social media.
“The photographs were posted Facebook by Sadanand Sharma, an official
of Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research. The photos
were taken during scientific investigation inside the temple to
resolve the problems of ventilation and humidity inside the Jagamohan
and sanctum sanctorum at the time of Rath Yatra this year,” SJTA chief administrator Pradeep Jena said.
“Sadanand has tendered an apology. However, discussion is
being held with the managing committee for initiating legal action
against him,” he told mediapersons.
In September, a woman devotee from West Bengal had
also posted on social media her selfie inside the temple.
