Puri Temple Servitor Pickpockets Devotee, Arrested

Puri: Simhadwara Police on Saturday arrested a servitor of the Jagannath Temple on charges of steali wallet of a devotee.

The servitor was identified as Shyamsunder Pratihari.
Sources said one Swpnajit Nayak from Cuttack was pickpocketed while having darshan of the Lords from the Nata Mandap on Saturday evening.
However, Nayak caught the accused servitor red-handed and later lodged a complaint at the Simhadwara Police Station.
Acting on the complaint, police examined the CCTV footage and detained Pratihari. Police later seized the stolen wallet from his possession.
Pratihariwas was later arrested and forwarded to the court.
In another incident, Simhadwara police arrested one Niranjan Pradhan of Hadagodia Sahi for allegedly stealing money from a devotee from Balasore while he was having a darshan of the Lords from Bahara Katha outside the temple on Sunday.
Police seized the stolen money from the accused and forwarded him to the court.
