‘Pushpa 2’ Stampede: We Don’t Have The Strength To Fight, Says Victim’s Husband

Hyderabad: Bhaskar, husband of the 35-year-old woman who died in the Sandhya Theatre stampede in Hyderabad, shared that his family doesn’t have the strength to fight for justice.

In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Bhaskar said that actor Allu Arjun, who is being blamed for the tragic stampede and the death of his wife, has been supporting in the treatment of his critically injured son right from the beginning.

“Allu Arjun is supporting us from Day 2. We do not want to blame anybody and consider it our bad luck… we were blamed for the arrest but we do not have the strength to fight…,” he was quoted as saying.

The victim’s husband further shared that his family had gone to see the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ only on his son Shri Tej’s (who is now in coma) insistence. His son is a fan of Allu Arjun.

After getting critically injured in the stampede, Sri Tej has been in coma for the last 20 days. He opens his eyes sometimes, but does not recognize anyone. “We do not know how long the treatment will take,” said Bhaskar.

He painfully shared that his daughter is unaware of her mother’s death till now. His family told her that she has gone to their village. “We have told her that she has gone to the village. She has no idea about what happened,” he said.

Earlier in an interview, Bhaskar had said that he is ready to withdraw the case against Allu Arjun.

“I am ready to withdraw the case. I was not aware of the arrest and Allu Arjun has nothing to do with the stampede in which my wife passed away,” he said after the actor’s arrest.

Following an FIR by the victim’s family, a case was registered against Allu Arjun and the management of Sandhya Theatre.

The actor was arrested from his residence on December 13 and was later granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court.
