Bhubaneswar: With the Odisha government imposing restrictions on dine-in amid COVID-19 upsurge, the twin cities denizens will have to wait a little more to enjoy food at this aeroplane-themed restaurant on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
Queen Airways, the new dining destination for the foodies of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, had become quite popular for its unique concept within days of its opening.
Believe it or not. Queen Airways has been a crowd-puller for its unique design – the aeroplane. While this may not be the real aircraft like Hawai Adda of Ludhiana or the Runway 1 on Ambala-Kurukshetra stretch in Delhi, this one near Hanspal Square on Cuttack-Bhubaneswar NH is surely a delight to visit and dine.
To enter the model aircraft one has to take a flight of steps where women dressed as air hostess welcome the customer at the table.
The restaurant offers a wide range of food besides the authentic Odia delicacies.
The restaurant also serves seven different cuisines on seven days. Besides the traditional dishes of Odisha, cuisines of seven states – Kerala, Punjab, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Goa, Telangana (Hyderabad) – are available here.
Both vegetarians and non-vegetarians can enjoy lunch and dinner here at affordable prices.
It can accommodate 20 people at a time with three chefs dishing out tasty food.
The airways restaurant also accepts bookings for birthday and kitty parties, ring ceremony and meetings, said a staff.
While this may not be the right time to dine in, one can be hopeful of trying it out once the weekend shutdown and COVID restrictions are lifted.
