Cuttack: After Berhampur, allegations of ragging have now surfaced in SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCB MCH) in Odisha’s Cuttack city.
As per information, some first year MBBS students have brought allegations of ragging against their seniors. They have accused some final year MBBS students of harassing, torturing and subjecting them to ragging on the college campus.
Based on the complaint made by the junior students, the college authorities have initiated an investigation into the allegations, sources said.
The anti-ragging committee of the college visited the hostel and spoke to some students as part of the probe into the allegations.
Parents of some students have also taken up the issue with the college authorities. They have alleged that the junior students were harassed by their seniors.
Allegations of ragging have surfaced in SCB MCH close on the heels of similar incident at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur city. Five students of MKCG MCH have been expelled from college hostel and barred from entering the campus for six months for ragging.
