Puri: A day after taking charge as the Governor of Odisha, Raghubar Das visited the pilgrim town of Puri on Wednesday and offered prayers at Shree Jagannath Temple.
As soon as he reached the Singhadwar of the 12th century shrine, the Governor was received by senior officials and escorted into the temple.
Servitors of the temple presented Das a ‘khandua pata’ and took him into the shrine for darshan of the deities. The Governor offered prayers near ‘bhitara katha’ and sought the blessings of the Lords.
After darshan inside the main shrine, Das went around the complex and offered prayers in the temples of Mahalaxmi and Devi Bimala. Additional District Magistrate (ADM) P K Sahu said that the Governor spent around 30 minutes inside the temple complex.
It may be noted here that Das had also visited the temple and offered prayers to the Lords on Monday ahead of his swearing-in.
